Button Buddies snail says "thanks"

I'm slowly learning new things to do with my phone. I took this photo and sent it to a special email address to save it as a draft in Blogger. That wasn't hard. But I have no idea how to crop the photo. Any suggestions? I have a Droid. At any rate, I used leftover designer paper from my Dinoroar card  in a previous post to make some 3" x 3" thank-you notes for customer orders. I used the retiring Button Buddies snail stamp in Island Indigo and added a Subtles button (also retiring). Lucky Limeade is the other color used on this note. It's the only In Color retiring at the end of this month.

My posts have been scarce lately. I have all kinds of craft projects in progress, and I'm trying to finish them one by one because my garage, dining room table and studio are filling up. My problem is that I finish three projects only to start a couple more! Then there was the recent Heirloom Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival. It was a great success for my bestie Kim and I. It was wonderful seeing other American Ink demonstrators there, as well as faces from Heirloom shows past. Also, the Heirloom people are THE BEST! So thanks to all of you who showed up and bought stuff from us and wished us well. We appreciated it.

This week, Kim and I will be meeting to empty her big kidnapper van - as I affectionately call it - into my studio. I'm going to rearrange furniture in my studio and get ready for my huge retired stamp event on June 15. I'll be prepping a variety of cards. For a flat fee of $20, you can come and stamp as many cards as you want from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and if you place an order, you can pick from my retired stash for FREE. Hello! What a great deal.

Big hugs to you! I hope you're enjoying a fabulous Memorial Weekend, and take time out to say "Thank you" to those who have given their lives for our country.

Button Buddies valentine for Monkey Challenge #95

My A La Card Monkey blog is closing in on 100 challenges. Come and see what it's all about! This week it's Monkey Challenge #95: Sweet + Sketch. I think the Button Buddies pig with googly eyes is pretty sweet. I'm really diggin' the Pool Party and Poppy Parade colors. I also used the Stripes Embossing Folder on the Poppy Parade layer, sanding it a bit to make the stripes stand out.

Stamps: Button Buddies, Take it to Heart, Loving Thoughts
Ink: Basic Black, Poppy Parade;
Paper: Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Everyday Enchantment dsp;
Accessories: Stripes Embossing Folder, Pool Party ruffled ribbon, dimensionals, Big Shot, Hearts framelits, Circles 2 die, Scallop Circle punch, Brights buttons.

Button Buddies snowman for Christmas card

Button Buddies is one of my favorite stamp sets. I used an Old Olive button with Old Olive card stock for this card made at a recent 10-card class. It uses Early Espresso/Whisper White Baker's Twine, as well as a Designer Frame (I stamped the snowman first, then embossed the frame around him). The sentiment is from the Snow Much Fun stamp set. I CASE'd this card from Renee at Stamping for Sanity.

Thank-you notes with Button Buddies and Out on a Limb stamps

I like to include a note of thanks with my club members' orders each month. I used some Cheery Treats dsp and the Button Buddies stamp set above, as well as Brights buttons, white twine and a sentiment from Trendy Trees.

Below, I used the Out on the Limb stamp set, along with some strips of Frightful Sight dsp I had leftover from a recent project. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

5 quick cards: From Christmas Lodge to Button Buddies

These are the cards from my most recent 10-card class. I hope you like them!

For this first card, I used Christmas Lodge with Frostwood Lodge dsp. Both items are in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I CASE'd the idea, though I changed the card body to Whisper White, used different punches, and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the tree with a 2-way glue pen.

This Snow Much Fun card uses Domestic Goddess dsp, so the card body is Pool Party card stock and the ribbon is ruffled Calypso Coral. The "window" is from a new Holiday Mini die called Peekaboo Frames. I used the Northern Frost decorative strip die on silver glimmer paper for the snowflake.

This Winter Post card uses Well Worn dsp, the music wheel and Four Greetings. I CASE'd the idea from LeAnne at Wee Inklings.

This Pear Pizzazz card features the Holiday Mini stamp set Bright Hopes, along with Letters to Santa dsp and Pretty in Pink scallop dotted ribbon. I used the Scallop Oval die for the main image, adding the sentiment in Early Espresso ink, along with a few rhinestones.

And Button Buddies and Brights dsp was used for the final card, along with a sentiment from Teeny, Tiny Wishes. I used the Buttons sizzlet to make matching buttons out of Pacific Point card stock for everybody, threading white Baker's Twine in each and adhering it with a dimensional.

"Quick" snail Button Buddies thank you

I used only items from my scrap box to create a handful of thank-you cards for some club members. I started with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Certainly Celery card stock folded in half, then a strip of designer paper punched at one end with the Postage Stamp Punch, and a Soft Suede snail from Button Buddies punched out with the 1-3/4" circle punch and sponged around with Pretty in Pink ink. The Subtles button and white baker's twine finishes the note card.

Once I finished the notecards, I cleaned out my scrap box! After putting away the large pieces of solid card stock, everything else went into a huge (11" x 14") Ziplock bag that'll go in my free box at the studio, along with other random stuff I found on my desk.

Button Buddies embossed flower card

Nothing says happy like Poppy Parade and a Button Buddies flower! This is one of the cards my customers will be making tonight at a stamp-a-stack. The So Saffron striped designer paper is from the Just Add Cake pack. And the sentiment is from Friendly Phrases.

Button Buddies for Monkey Challenge 65: Buttons & Bows

This Button Buddies pig is the cutest! First, there's that nose. I added the nostrils with a black marker so they were visible through the button. (Just a side note: When you add Baker's Twine in the button, it looks like snot! Yikes.) I used the marker for the eyes too.

Did you notice the new Houndstooth embossing folder on the Melon Mambo layer? I used the debossed side. The dsp is from the Cheery Treat hostess pack, along with some Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon. And the words? Well, they come from the Not So Seriously stamp set. The inside says: And I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

I used the sketch from A La Card Monkey. I love the little piglet and his soft pink snout!
One last note: I've created my very first paid tutorial on a new tab above. Nobody's purchased it yet (I just added it minutes ago), and it's only $1.95. Let me know what you think! It's an adorable Flip-Flop Album, made with real flip-flops! It's great for all kinds of summer photos - of vacations, trips to the beach and waterparks, etc. I think it's a great gift for that hard-to-buy-for person in your life.

Easy Events, Button Buddies and Array of Sunshine cards

These three cards are all from a recent 10-card class I did earlier in the week.

Stampin' Up! has a cute new set called Easy Events that offers a sentiment with a graphic on a single stamp. I paired one stamp with a strip of designer paper from the Well Worn pack, and colored the image with markers (So Saffron, Cajun Crazy, Not Quite Navy, and Crumb Cake).

I love how cute and easy this Button Buddies card turned out. It's all Melon Mambo card stock and ink, as well as polka-dotted designer paper from the Cheery Treat pack (a hostess item). The sentiment is from a set called Friendly Phrases.

I like the bold styling of Array of Sunshine, a stamp set you may select with your hostess dollars. This card uses Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive inks, along with Whisper White card stock and designer paper from the Pocketful of Posies pack. The sentiment is from another hostess item called Perfect Words.

Sneak Peek: Button Buddies cherries

Here's another photo of some cute 3" x 3" notes from the cruise to Alaska, provided by Shelli and Stampin' Up! staff. The top left note uses the new stamp set Button Buddies, along with "Enjoy" from You're a Gem. The other card and envelope use Beyond the Garden dsp with Pretty Postage. The dsp flower is made by punching two Postage Stamps and crumpling them and adding an antique brad in the center.

Sneak Peek: Button Buddies vase

Here's another peek at the new stamp set Button Buddies. You can see the buttons were placed as flowers coming out of the vase. Cute, eh? Have you made a Twist Container (aka Sour Cream Container) lately? I love it here - embossed with the Square Lattice folder in the Big Shot. And that 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon is yummy.

Twist Container instructions:
  1. Crank a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock through your favorite embossing folder for the Big Shot.
  2. Place Sticky Strip on one short side of card stock and roll it into what'll look like a toilet paper roll, adhering it in place.
  3. Place 1" of Sticky Strip near edge of one side of the roll and squish sides together at end only.
  4. Fill with treat (a few Hershey Kisses, Starbursts or other item), and squish open end down so it's opposite bottom - see photo above.
  5. Add ribbon and tag.
Note: You can also staple the ends as shown in the photo. It just depends on the "look" you want your goody to have.

Sneak Peek: Button Buddies pig

I love, love, love this pig! He makes me want to squeal with glee! I took this photo on the cruise to Alaska. It uses a new stamp set called Button Buddies. With each image, you can add a button. This is one of the first stamp sets I'll be buying from the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. We can order July 1. That's only a couple of days away now. Oh, and the words are from You're a Gem.
