A bright palette for Wildflower Meadow

I focused on a Daffodil Delight/Island Indigo/Melon Mambo/Pear Pizzazz palette for this happy card. The sentiment is from the Hello, Lovely stamp set - one of the ones we received at SU!'s Convention 2013 - and the gingham yellow pattern is actually a piece of washi tape. You can find the stamp set on page 22 of the annual catalog.

My number one tip for this card - stamp before you emboss. lol I used markers to ink up the Wildflower Meadow stamp, embossed it with the coordinating folder, and then added little punched flowers with pearls. This card makes me happy!

All of these wonderful items are available to you day and night by ordering through my Online Store at http://TheRubberRoom.stampinup.net. And I have a great deal for you this month.

Everybody who orders Tag It from me by August 31 will have their name entered into a drawing for the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the Holiday Catalog. I'll announce the winner on Sept. 1 AND if you use the following hostess code, you'll also be eligible to win the hostess benefits - GGQ2GJ3A.

Here's my vintage find of the day - hand-painted soldier cake picks. Aren't they adorable? Enjoy your day!

Wildflower Meadow for Wonderful You!

I'm enjoying the new In Colors. This Wildflower Meadow card uses Baked Brown Sugar card stock and ink, and Coastal Cabana card stock and ink, with a bow of white organdy ribbon. I used an Itty Bitty punch for the tiny flowers in the bigger, stamped ones, and added pearls. The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts. This was the second quick-card design from yesterday's 10-card class. I CASE'd the card from fellow SU! demo Chat here.

As a reminder, my All-You-Can-Stamp Event is this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. Bring your own adhesive! No need to let me know you're coming - just show up at my studio and bring a friend, 6287 NE Silver Springs Ln, Poulsbo (off of Miller Bay Road). Orders will earn FREE retired items for every $10 ordered.

American Ink swaps with sneak peeks and a mini ironing board

The new Quatrefancy Specialty designer paper really stands out on this white card. I stamped a long stamp from Mosaic Madness in Pool Party. In hindsight, I think Island Indigo would've been a better choice. Anyway, I used one of the framelits from Apothecary Accent Framelits for the sentiment from Sassy Salutations.

Barb's swap uses the Honeycomb embossing folder and smallest butterfly punch. The card is Soft Suede with Calypso Coral and new In Color Crisp Cantaloupe. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake.

Frankie's swap uses the new Wildflower Meadow single stamp (she did an incredible amount of coloring with markers - amazing!), and the coordinating embossing folder with the same name. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Kim's swap uses the new Mosaic Madness stamp set, Mosaic Punch, along with the Modern Mosaic Textured embossing folder. "You're Amazing" comes from the stamp set with that same name.

Mary Ann's swap uses Floral Fusion Sizzlits, and a sentiment from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.

I really enjoy myself at these get-togethers. I'm planning a group retreat August 10-11 at my studio. I'll be prepping a couple of projects for everyone who shows up, as well as prepping random cards for everybody to make as a service project for our troops and a local nursing home.

Of course I have to share this adorable mini ironing board. That little wooden piece locks the leg in, so it doesn't collapse; otherwise, it does collapse to store easily. The "iron"ic thing - I don't iron. lol

Happy Mother's Day to all of my friends! I hope you have a wonderful day of laziness.

Sharing sunshine and a Sneak Peek of the 2013-2014 annual SU! catalog

Sunshine, happiness, smiles... they all work within this sentiment from Feel Goods. To emphasize the sunshine, I used stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon on a Melon Mambo button. We've had terrific sunshine here today - temps reached more than 80 degrees. We played miniature golf with my niece and her family, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner after that. A perfect Saturday filled with a little work, lots of play, family time and the great outdoors.

There are a couple of Sneak Peeks from the 2013-2014 annual catalog on this card - the hummingbird is from a new background-sized stamp called Wildflower Meadow, and the designer paper is from a new pack called Gingham Garden. Did you know that Stampin' Up! started listing the colors in the designer paper packs with the Spring Catalog? It's wonderful! Turn the package over and you'll see the colors listed right under the paper name.

Here's another shot of the card. I have a big, beautiful shabby-chic green chalkboard in my entryway where I've been writing the quote of the day. I used this sentiment today. My kids and hubby love reading the variety of sayings. They're all positive, pick-me-ups and great reminders of how blessed we are.

Happy Stampin'!
