Countryside and Comfort Cafe for Monkey Challenge #112

This has been such a fun week! But first, let's talk about A La Card Monkey Challenge #112: Father's Day + Sketch. Focus on Dad - yours or your kids'. Old trucks always remind me of my dad. He's always had several vehicles around, and even mashed them for scrap metal at one point in his life. I used the Countryside stamp set, along with a sentiment from Best Dad Ever. The designer paper is from the Comfort Cafe pack, and that big button is Natural Wood! The two tones are so pretty in real life. Unfortunately, the words are cattywampus. Here's the sketch I followed:

Now about this week - I feel like it's been my birthday all week long. I've been treated to lunch a couple of times, plus dates for future lunches, a box of Stampin' Up! NEW stuff, balloons, cakes, scratch tickets, a vintage suitcase (beautiful - I'll take a photo of it tomorrow when I'm at the studio), a gorgeous clothesline purse, unexpected visits, and more. It's great! I'll share some of the hand-stamped cards later. I've heard from so many friends and family, it's been really wonderful. So thank you! I'm feeling the love!!!

It's a blue, blue time for Monkey Challenge #106

I'm feeling a little blue. Probably because A La Card Monkey has Challenge #106: Something Blue + Sketch. I used the water pump from Countryside, along with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen.

I love monochromatic cards! This one is Bashful Blue, with a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Beau Chateau dsp. I punched three 1-3/4" Marina Mist circles and ran them through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, then added a knot of scallop dotted ribbon. The water pump was stamped in Marina Mist on Bashful Blue card stock and punched with the 2-1/2" circle punch.

You can see the sketch I followed below:

Have a wonderful day!

Homegrown Countryside card for sketch challenge

This is only my second time participating in The Paper Players challenge, and I love sketches. To add a little interest to a simple sketch (my favorite kind), I "notched" the two main layers with the oval punch used to punch out the Homegrown oval. The colors used are Baja Breeze and Bravo Burgundy.

I love the pickup truck from Countryside stamped in a single color. I added some Crumb Cake seam binding to the front of the card after running more than half of the front through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The sketch is below. You have till Friday at midnight to enter a card!

Edited on June 25 to add: Thanks to The Paper Players for selecting my card as A Cut Above!

American Ink team make & takes feature new product, Sail Away, Loads of Love and Tagtastic

Wow, were we busy at our American Ink team demonstrator meeting last Saturday. We had a total of nine make and takes! I'm posting a few today and I'll post the rest tomorrow. Plus, I have a bunch of swaps to show you too!!!

My make and take above uses a new hostess set called Tagtastic. The hostess program has been revamped, so it'll be easier than ever to earn the hostess and catalog stuff YOU want. The patterned paper is from a new pack called Pocketful of Posies, and I also used a stamp from Countryside, along with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on this card with Island Indigo ink (new In Color).

Mary Ann brought this Loads of Love make & take on Pumpkin Pie card stock. It makes a nice and simple Father's Day card.

Kim created this Sail Away make & take with Crumb Cake and Not Quite Navy, as well as Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine. The sentiment is from Three Little Words.

I really appreciate all of the people who volunteered to bring make & takes, as well as those who demonstrated techniques! It was an awesome gathering, so thank you!

Countryside truck in Newsprint for sketch challenge...

I made this square card with circles (I used 1-1/4" punched pieces of Newsprint dsp) for a sketch challenge. I thought of my dad when making this card with the truck from the Countryside stamp set. He loves old cars and old stuff, in general. I did add some Pear Pizzazz green to the apples in the back of the truck, as well as to the grass blades underneath. The sentiment is from the Live, Laugh, Love stamp set.

Countryside card for sketch challenge...

Happy Labor Day! I hope you're having a wonderful time with your friends and family.

My family is hanging out today, and I'm stamping. Life is good! I mounted my Countryside stamp set for this Mojo Monday sketch, pairing it with Elegant Soiree dsp. My dad will love receiving this card - even with the Victoria trim.

The main card is Soft Suede card stock, with a layer of Baja Breeze, then pieces of Elegant Soiree dsp. I used the biggest circle punch Stampin' Up! carries for the truck and hand-cut the larger Soft Suede circle after tracing the lid from a brad container. It's hard to cut a perfect circle, which is why I opted to distress it with a Cutter Kit. *smile*

A knot of trim and a little jewelry tag with a glimmer brad finishes the card.

Stamps: Countryside (116998 wood, 120495 clear), Tiny Tags (118091 wood, 118592 clear);
Ink: Soft Suede pad (115657);
Paper: Soft Suede (115318), Very Vanilla (101650), Baja Breeze (111352); Elegant Soiree dsp (117163);
Accessories: Victoria 5/8" crochet trim (118481), 2-1/2" Circle Punch Extra-Large(120906), Medium Jewelry Tag Punch (1117190).
