Warmest of Wishes for Monkey Challenge 76

I've thought about placing this owl's head through the wreath ever since I earned this Warmest of Wishes hostess set. So here it is, googly eyes and all. I like it. What do you think? I paired it with some of my favorite Spice Cake dsp and a little Spice Cake fabric, following the A La Card Monkey Challenge 76 sketch below:

Mocha Morning Tree Trimmings for sketch challenge

I love the warm colors in the Mocha Morning Specialty Paper pack, so I pulled out a few patterns to work with for The Paper Players sketch challenge. And since I was designing cards for my Tree Trimmings class yesterday I used that stamp set. I started with a Very Vanilla card, and used Early Espresso ink and card stock. The ornament is embossed and I used two short pieces of 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta for the bow and hanger, and a few pearls to add some class. Here's the sketch:

Since I centered the sentiment (which is from Christmas Lodge), I didn't feel the extra embellishment on the oval was needed.

Glittery red Tree Trimmings card for class and sketch

It's so easy to add sparkle and shine to Christmas cards, especially with this Tree Trimmings stamp set and the red polka-dotted paper in the Holly Berry Bouquet dsp pack. This card is one of three we'll make tonight in a class. It's Very Vanilla and Real Red, with Dazzling Diamonds glitter applied with a 2-way glue pen. The ornaments are hanging by Cherry Cobbler/Whisper White Baker's Twine, and the sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set. I used the sketch provided this week at Stamping 411, but was too late to link up!

Thank-you notes with Button Buddies and Out on a Limb stamps

I like to include a note of thanks with my club members' orders each month. I used some Cheery Treats dsp and the Button Buddies stamp set above, as well as Brights buttons, white twine and a sentiment from Trendy Trees.

Below, I used the Out on the Limb stamp set, along with some strips of Frightful Sight dsp I had leftover from a recent project. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Now You're Cookin' and House & Home sketch card

I've been using the Domestic Goddess dsp for Christmas cards, and thought I'd use it with some of the product suite - the House & Home and Now You're Cookin' stamp sets. The card above has no bling, though I think the white twine tied around the oven mitts is super cute. Below, I added bling.

Dinoroar fun for Stampin' Royalty challenge

This card is all about a green Dinoroar dinosaur! I love the way it turned out. I outlined the triceratops in Bashful Blue to make him pop a bit. It really does make a difference. The highlights of this card are the Lucky Limeade designer brads, ruffled ribbon and Houndstooth-embossed layer. Here's a closeup:

Yes, I'm back to using Snow Much Fun with Domestic Goddess dsp. I love it! And the words come from the Occasions Alphabet. It's a fun set. I started with a Pool Party card, then added a Whisper White layer that's been run through the Northern Flurry embossing folder. I used Calypso Coral for an accent color - the designer brad, the scallop trim border-punched layer, and a little color on the snowman. Hope you like it! Holiday Lineup for Monkey Challenge 75: Christmas!

I think these elves are so cute! They're just one of the three stamps in the Holiday Lineup stamp set that I used for this week's A La Card Monkey challenge. I used Dazzling Details - that sparkly dimensional glue - like stuff - on the hat brims, pompoms and a couple of the collars.

The paper I used is Holly Berry Bouquet dsp, along with Real Red and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is from Holiday Happiness.

Scaredy Cat Spectacular a spooky success

I've been so busy over the past few days I haven't even thought about posting to my blog. So here's a little catch-up attempt, starting with a five-project class I did on Sunday with the Scaredy Cat stamp set. I had a card contest (fabulous cards!) with prizes, lots of door prizes, lunch, and cupcakes with bones. It was a fun day!

This tent-top card uses only a Basic Black ink pad, a couple of punches, some lush Cherry Cobbler ribbon (new in the Holiday Mini) and Frightful Sight dsp.

I CASE'd this idea from fellow demonstrator Julie Arvin, adding the popped-up ghost.

I used the same sketch I used for a different Halloween card for this one. After running the card front through the Big Shot in the Spider Web embossing folder, I used markers to single out the ghost and pumpkin from word stamps, punched them out with the 3/4" circle punch and layered them on 1" circles. The "BOO!" is from Spooky Bingo Bits.

This treat basket uses two milk carton diecuts and more Frightful Sight dsp. We used the Simply Scored tool for the accordian rosette.

Smarties are the perfect candy for these skinny cello bags. The square scallop came from the Two Scallop Squares die for the Big Shot, and there's one on each side of the cello bag, sandwiching it in.

Pick Your Poison quick accents with Piece of Poison

 

This Basic Gray card came together quickly, thanks to self-adhesive Pick Your Poison quick accents, the rat from the Piece of Poison stamp set, and some 1-1/4" Basic Black grosgrain ribbon. Those two black jewels are leftovers from last year's Holiday Mini Catalog.

In addition to the decorative strips, the Pick Your Poison quick accents also have a few printed labels, which I've used here. I stamped the skeleton from Piece of Poison in Pumpkin Pie ink, cut him out, and added a little bow of 5/8" Basic Gray satin ribbon.

Leaves of a Tree for Monkey Challenge 74: You've Got a Friend

This week at A La Card Monkey, I want you to make cards for your friends, because they're always there for you, listen to you, and put up with you! lol I used the single stamp, Leaves of a Tree, in Soft Suede, and 1-3/8" circle of Spice Cake dsp, along with this sketch:

Kim's Warmest of Wishes Halloween card

Kim came up with this adorable Halloween owl card. She used several stamp sets for it - Warmest of Wishes, Howl-o-ween Creeps, and Out on a Limb - as well as Frightful Sight dsp and the Spider Web embossing folder.

Top Dog & Something Fabulous from Not So Seriously stamp set

These dogs are so happy! I couldn't help but use these stamps from the Not So Seriously stamp set. I paired up the dogs with Cajun Craze card stock and Well Worn dsp. The sponged banner and trinkets are the only embellishments.

Here are a couple more stamps from Not So Seriously. This Pool Party card uses the Domestic Goddess dsp (which I've also been using for Christmas cards!), the Scallop Oval die, and basic pearls, along with ruffled Calypso Coral ribbon. Check out the inside:



5 quick cards: From Christmas Lodge to Button Buddies

These are the cards from my most recent 10-card class. I hope you like them!

For this first card, I used Christmas Lodge with Frostwood Lodge dsp. Both items are in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I CASE'd the idea, though I changed the card body to Whisper White, used different punches, and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the tree with a 2-way glue pen.

This Snow Much Fun card uses Domestic Goddess dsp, so the card body is Pool Party card stock and the ribbon is ruffled Calypso Coral. The "window" is from a new Holiday Mini die called Peekaboo Frames. I used the Northern Frost decorative strip die on silver glimmer paper for the snowflake.

This Winter Post card uses Well Worn dsp, the music wheel and Four Greetings. I CASE'd the idea from LeAnne at Wee Inklings.

This Pear Pizzazz card features the Holiday Mini stamp set Bright Hopes, along with Letters to Santa dsp and Pretty in Pink scallop dotted ribbon. I used the Scallop Oval die for the main image, adding the sentiment in Early Espresso ink, along with a few rhinestones.

And Button Buddies and Brights dsp was used for the final card, along with a sentiment from Teeny, Tiny Wishes. I used the Buttons sizzlet to make matching buttons out of Pacific Point card stock for everybody, threading white Baker's Twine in each and adhering it with a dimensional.



American Ink team make & takes cover Halloween, Christmas and more!

I always ask for volunteers to bring make & takes to our American Ink team meetings, and am never disappointed. We all love to stamp, and we got to play with some great stuff!

Cheryl brought this Concord Crush Batty for You card for us to make. It's simple, with great colors and textures, and adorable!

I brought this Vintage Wallpaper-embossed stocking with Cherry Cobbler and Confetti White card stocks, along with the stitched felt in the Holiday Mini. It uses the stamp set Dear Santa.

Sherry's make & take featured the Best of Everything stamp set.

Mary Ann's make & take used Four Frames and the Flower Garden embossing folder with Calypso Coral and Craft White ink sponged on.
