Embossed pewter Tree Trimmings card

It's easy to make an elegant card with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and pewter embossing powder. This is the third Tree Trimmings card we made at my class a few days ago. You can look through previous posts for the first two. The Vintage Wallpaper embossed Whisper White is a separate layer from the card front, adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the ornaments and sentiment from Petite Pairs in a VersaMark pad, then heat embossed them with the new pewter embossing powder in the Holiday Mini. I used a ruler and Marina Mist marker to draw the hangers, and added rhinestones for extra sparkle. I tried a Brushed Silver card stock layer behind the top one, but it didn't look right, so I made that Marina Mist as well. Hope you like it!

Mocha Morning Tree Trimmings for sketch challenge

I love the warm colors in the Mocha Morning Specialty Paper pack, so I pulled out a few patterns to work with for The Paper Players sketch challenge. And since I was designing cards for my Tree Trimmings class yesterday I used that stamp set. I started with a Very Vanilla card, and used Early Espresso ink and card stock. The ornament is embossed and I used two short pieces of 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta for the bow and hanger, and a few pearls to add some class. Here's the sketch:

Since I centered the sentiment (which is from Christmas Lodge), I didn't feel the extra embellishment on the oval was needed.

Stamps: Tree Trimmings, Christmas Lodge;
Ink: Early Espresso classic pad;
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Mocha Morning Specialty;
Accessories: Oval Scallop Die for the Big Shot, dimensionals, clear embossing powder, basic pearls, 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta.

Glittery red Tree Trimmings card for class and sketch

It's so easy to add sparkle and shine to Christmas cards, especially with this Tree Trimmings stamp set and the red polka-dotted paper in the Holly Berry Bouquet dsp pack. This card is one of three we'll make tonight in a class. It's Very Vanilla and Real Red, with Dazzling Diamonds glitter applied with a 2-way glue pen. The ornaments are hanging by Cherry Cobbler/Whisper White Baker's Twine, and the sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set. I used the sketch provided this week at Stamping 411, but was too late to link up!
