All kinds of Halloween fun at American Ink team event

My American Ink monthly team get-togethers are fun - we swap, we stamp make & takes, and enjoy good food and each other's company. Even our team members who live out of state have the opportunity to participate in our swaps!

I know I posted most of the make & takes yesterday, but today I'm featuring Frankie's. She created this adorable "eek-a-boo" card with Spooky Bingo Bits and Teeny Tiny Wishes. This card also features some Frightful Sight dsp and the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

Now onto the swaps: (These are just the Halloween ones!)

Terry's Haunted Forest with Pick Your Poison dsp
Dark & Dreary treat holder

Inside the treat holder is a little brown bag that holds two Smarties.

Heather A.'s House of Haunted and Wicked Cool card
Lynn's House of Haunts card with glittery bats and spiders.

Puddin's Scaredy Cat swap
Tomorrow I'll post the rest of the swaps - fall and winter cards. If you're interested in joining my American Ink team, we'd love to have you! There's a great special this month. When you buy the Starter Kit, you get $100 in product FREE (this can even be the Big Shot machine!). Click on the tab above for more details. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Kim's Warmest of Wishes Halloween card

Kim came up with this adorable Halloween owl card. She used several stamp sets for it - Warmest of Wishes, Howl-o-ween Creeps, and Out on a Limb - as well as Frightful Sight dsp and the Spider Web embossing folder.

A perfect portrait of Howl-o-ween Creeps Frank

I was in a craft store today and saw "portraits" of some scary characters. I thought they were cute, so my brain started figuring out what I'd need to make my own gallery of Halloween portraits. I started by heat embossing the frame and coloring it Old Olive.

I took out my Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set because there are some real characters in there, and paired it with a new set called Frame It. I wanted my card to look like a portrait hanging on a wall. The bottom piece of dsp was run through the Stripes embossing folder.

Here's the sketch challenge from Stamping 411 that started today:

Stamps: Howl-o-ween Creeps, Frame It, Teeny, Tiny Wishes;
Ink: Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive;
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Frightful Sight;
Accessories: Black embossing powder, heat gun, dimensionals, silver brads, paper piercer and mat, aquapainter, Word Window Punch, Stripes embossing folder, Dotted Scallops Old Olive Ribbon, 1-1/4" square punch.

American Ink team swaps (a few, anyway)

I'm a couple of weeks late in posting the swaps from our last American Ink team gathering. And we've got another coming up soon! I'm happy to welcome a few new stampers to our group - Welcome Dani, Ginette and Lynn!!! If you're interesting in learning more about stamping, including new techniques, please contact me! You're welcome to join our next group get-together to see and experience the fun for yourself.

Howl-O-Ween Creeps is perfect for Halloween card fun

I used my Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set (coming up September 1 in the Holiday Mini) because I love that witch! This time I decided to glam her up a bit with some pearls on her hat, dress and shoes.

I used this week's sketch on the Stamping 411 blog, and this is what I got. I figure a witch loves her black cat(s), her pet bat and spider, and strings of candy corn and spiders. The Old Olive glimmer brad adds a bit of bling.

This close-up shows the pearls better, as well as her Cajun Craze hair. The vertical strip with the spider is from a piece of paper in the Frightful Sight dsp pack, along with the cat paper. Here's the 411 sketch:

Holiday Mini Sneak Peek at Howl-o-ween Creeps

I've been wanting to create a Halloween card ever since my Holiday Mini Catalog preorder arrived the other day. So I did! Here it is, using the same sketch for A La Card Monkey as the previous one.
The witch and sentiment are from a new set called Howl-o-ween Creeps. The paper is from a pack in the regular catalog called Frightful Sight (and is part of the BUY 3, GET 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale this month), and the black lace and jewels are from last year's Holiday Mini. Did you notice the spider web embossed on the Basic Black card stock layer?
