Fabulous Florets for Monkey Challenge 55 - Flowers and a sketch...

Here's a close-up of a few of the flowers I put on this A La Card Monkey challenge card. I used reinkers and an aqua painter for saturated colors, then added highlights with a white gel pen.

I love this sketch. I think it would work well for any number of stamp sets! Plus you can add many details.

I started with the Pawsitively Prints II dsp. The small flower pattern is my favorite. I pulled the colors from it - Poppy Parade, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight - for the entire card. Another highlight of the card, for me, is the "you are awesome" phrase from the FYI stamp set. Who wouldn't love to get a card that says you're awesome?

Fabulous Florets is available in the Summer Mini Catalog. Contact me if you'd like to order any of the supplies used to make this card! Now create your own project using Flowers + the Sketch above, then link it to http://alacardmonkey.blogspot.com/. Have a great weekend!

Man shirt card...

This shirt card was just fun to make. I used the instructions from Amy Celona's blog to prep this card for my Man Card Stamp-a-Stack last night.

It uses a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Old Olive card stock, along with some Island Oasis for the tie and tie knot.

I added a sentiment from the FYI stamp set and punched it out with the large oval punch.

What I forgot - I took this photo before adding two gold brads on the points of the collar. Try this - it's fun!

Night & Day Herringbone Technique card...

This Night & Day Specialty paper is so fun to play with. Here, I used strips on a shipping label in what is called the Herringbone Technique for my Technique Lover's Class this month.

To do the Herringbone Technique: Lay a strip at an angle across the entire sticky surface. Then lay strips on either side of that one at a 90-degree angle, which make triangles. Keep laying additional strips at 90-degree angles to the last, filling up every space. Trim off the strips and layer and create your card. It's that easy!

The FYI stamped sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink and punched using the Word Window Punch, then layered on a Modern Label punched piece of Basic Black card stock.

I used a knot of 1/4" Basic Black grosgrain in keeping with the black and white look, then stamped and cut out the butterfly from Great Friend, adhering it with Stampin' Dimensionals.
