Color me happy with Color Me Christmas stamps

Color Me Christmas is such a fun Christmas stamp set. I paired the tree with Season of Style designer paper. I colored the tree with markers above - Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler and Baked Brown Sugar - after stamping it in Jet Black StazOn.

This card uses the flip side of the same designer paper, and I went with a monochromatic look using Cherry Cobbler for the ornaments and sentiment, which comes from the More Merry Messages stamp set.

Red and white Christmas plus Cards for Hospitalized Kids

This cute little Santa is from the Color Me Christmas stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.

I created this card for a 10-card Christmas class. It uses a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Polka Dot Parade designer paper and some silver 1/8" ribbon to create a tall present. The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

One of my blogging buddies (Hi, Cheryl!) mentioned a new charity I can easily support. It's called Cards for Hospitalized Kids. Here's what it's all about:

Cards for Hospitalized Kids(CFHK) is an internationally recognized charitable organization that spreads hope, joy & magic through uplifting, handmade cards to kids that are hospitalized and/or seriously ill.

Individuals and groups across the nation, and world, donate time and creativity to make handmade cards and send them to us to distribute in hospitals across the nation.

Over 40,000 kids in hospitals in all 50 states have received cards from us. We believe this is just the beginning. We hope you will help us brighten the days of as many hospitalized kids as possible.

A couple of nieces visited Sunday, so among the things we did, we sat down and wrote inspirational messages inside each of these 42 Halloween cards. It feels wonderful! I hope you have a fun day.

Cardinal punch art for Christmas card

This cardinal punch art card makes design 7 of 10 from my recent 20-card Christmas class. The Cherry Cobbler cardinal is made using the Bird Builder and Owl Builder punches.

CASE'ing a card by fellow demo Heidi Baks, I used a Daydream Medallions stamp for the wreath (item 131976, $36.95 wood; item 126467, $26.95 clear), and little berries with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (item 125585, $2.50). I popped up the punch cardinal with dimensionals and added a bow of Cherry Cobbler seam binding. The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

A storm is moving in this weekend. We lost power in the early hours of this morning for several hours, but it's back on now. The bird feeder in the backyard is bustling with activity. I think the birds are trying to fill their bellies before strong wind and rain hits.

I've got a busy afternoon and evening. My Lions Club is hosting its first-ever dinner and auction tonight. I made the table tents and helped set up yesterday. Today, I'm making a Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie for the dessert table and have been assigned data entry - entering bid numbers and winning bids, then taking in the money when people are finished. Here's hoping we have big bucks and no whammies! The monies benefit Poulsbo Elementary School technology and the Retsil Veterans Home. I hope you enjoy a wonderful Saturday!

I haven't posted vintage items for a few days. Here are some old cigar boxes and miscellaneous items I'm saving for a special project. I plan to recover that foot stool some day too! So many projects, so little time. lol If you'd like to see more old, vintage stuff, please visit Booth 6 at http://www.facebook.com/booth6goods.

A simple punched Christmas card

I love adding a bit of sparkle and shine to my Christmas cards. Here, I used an Merry Mini punch and the Champagne Glimmer Paper. I CASE'd this card from Deb Currier here.

My card uses squares punched from a variety of papers in the Candlelight Christmas Specialty pack, plus Real Red stitched grosgrain, and a greeting from More Merry Messages. I earned this stamp set for FREE from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-Bration (SAB) event last year. The next SAB event is January 22 - March 22, 2013. So if you want to pick a date or your private class please email me at ericandterry@comcast.net. Every $50 ordered gets you something FREE from the SAB Catalog, so start saving now.

If there's anything you want from the Holiday Catalog, order here. It ends January 2, 2013.

The special offer for the FREE collection of inkpads for being a hostess ($450 order) or buying the Starter Kit ($99 + tax) ends December 16, 2012. You can buy anything you want in the catalogs for the kit. Click here to purchase.

Today, I'm thankful for the unconditional love of our animals.

Christmas cards and cool furniture finds of the day

Ooh, these mittens look so cozy! I love the glitter on them. This was one of the five designs at a recent 10-card Christmas class.

I CASE'd this card from Jill Hilliard, though I changed the embossed part to a Delicate Design Folder. It uses the Make a Mitten stamp set and Mitten Builder Punch, along with Greetings of the Season with Baja Breeze and Island Indigo colors of ink and card stock.

I had the best day today! Look at my biggest score - a $25 pew! The seat compartment opens. I think it's adorable. My BFF Kim and I went to a vintage market, a thrift store, and a handful of garage sales. We each got a pew at a moving sale. Eric - an actor who starts filming on the TV show I Hate My Teenage Daughter next month - is helping his mom purge two storage units and a garage so he can move her to a condo he bought for her in Los Angeles. He's quite the talker, and an absolute sweetheart! I also found these two items at the moving sale:

This little unit is sitting on a shabby chic table I bought at the vintage market today. Eric's mom had used it to hold onions and potatoes. This is a "before" photo. It cleaned up nicely. I can't wait to use it at the Tacoma Holiday Food & Gift Festival next month. Kim and I have been working on lots of fabulous handmade crafts!

This was another little table I picked up. I like that it has a clear, hinged drawer and is sturdy.

Now for more Christmas cards:

Sassy Salutations and Snow Festival dsp using a Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch from a couple of weeks ago.

A sentiment from More Merry Messages and the Music Notes standard wheel, CASE'd from Deb Lalim.

A monochromatic card in Soft Suede with Snowflake Soiree, CASE'd from Mary Fish.

The fifth Christmas card design was the No Peeking card here.

Have a wonderful weekend! I'll see you back here Monday morning with my last Merry Monday challenge as the Featured Designer for September. I hope you'll join in the fun!
