True Friend...

This set is a must have from the Holiday Mini, which you can order from as of Saturday, Sept. 1!

The flowers are heat embossed, using Really Rust craft ink and clear embossing powder. The paper is Apple Cider, also available Sept. 1.

I also used the Sanded background stamp in River Rock over the three blooms and sponged the whole layer with Classic Really Rust ink.

Boatloads of Love...

My friend and downline Lelian is visiting from Hawaii. Her hubby is on a destroyer that''ll be arriving shortly. She wanted quick and simple ideas for Boatloads of Love since she's going to make several cards for the people on Homecoming Committee.

Think Happy Thoughts is the other stamp set used (thanks so much). The circles are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A gift note penny spinner card...

A few punches, 2 cents and two dimensionals make up this Think Happy Thoughts card. Oh, and there's the So Swirly jumbo wheel in So Saffron.

A Word Window Punch makes the elongated hole for the spinning circles, which were punched with 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches. Stick a dimensional to the middle back of the layered circles. Stick on a penny. Stick on another dimensional (on the penny), and stick the second penny to that.

You put one penny toward the inside of the gift note (curve the front a bit to fit the back penny through the window so the spinner spins on the dimensional holding the pennies together) and the circles spin when you tip the card left or right.

You can stamp a greeting for the inside of the gift note, place your business card there to hand out to potential customers, or a gift card!

The slit punches are already there for you, as is the notch and slit to hold the gift note closed.

You get 3 different card stock colors in one pack of gift notes - it's a bargain!

Outlaw paper...

The only stamp on this card come from Hugs & Wishes. The card uses one of the patterns from the Outlaw designer paper pack, along with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip card stocks.

The flower (Pretties kit) was colored using an aqua painter with watercolor crayons, and a sponge dauber. It was adhered with a dimensional and the pearl was stuck on with mini glue dots.

Playing around...

Louise was over for a bit today and wanted to borrow a stamp set, so I made her stamp a card for me!

This card uses Big Flowers, Think Happy Thoughts, and the Polka Dot background. The colors used are Garden Green, Wild Wasabi (double-stitched ribbon), Really Rust and River Rock.

It's hard to tell from the scan, but the inside circles are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. There are gold brads in the middle of the outside circles, and a fire rhinestone brad in the center of the middle circle. Hope you like it!

Moose You...

This stamp set is fun! There are six pieces to it, including a deer, porcupine, heart, flower and leaves.

This card uses Groovy Guava card stock and Darling Doodles paper, along with Purely Pomegranate card stock and double-stitched ribbon, and the tag corner punch.

Moose trivia: Moose live in the northern parts of America and Eurasia. They are the largest members of the deer family, the biggest moose as high as seven feet at the shoulders.

Despite their size and strength, moose tend to act very kindly toward their environment. Moose treat other animals and their surroundings with respect and care. Moose can be deadly if they feel threatened or angered: they may charge the opponent or kick forcefully with their hind legs. However, moose generally do not attack other creatures unless they or their offspring are in danger. They prefer to avoid hurting others if possible. Think Happy Thoughts...

This is a great stamp set to use with our punches. The brag book page below uses a 3/4" circle punch and a 1 3/8" square punch, as well as a 1/16" hand punch to make the hole for the brad.

The Soft Sky card stock is textured and difficult to see in this photo. It's accented with Blue Bayou card stock and double-stitched ribbon.

Nobody said a scrapbook page had to be difficult, now did they?

Another reason to purchase the punch box...

These flowers (from the Three for You punch box, which is the August promotion) are the perfect accent for the little bird from Fun & Fast Notes.

The ribbon from the Sherbet Ribbon Originals doesn't hurt either. It's got a bit of Always Artichoke grosgrain around it.

Trivia: How many feathers are there on a bird? Someone has actually counted the number of feathers on many species of birds. The tiny Ruby-throated Hummingbird has relatively few at 940 feathers. At the high extreme, the Swan has some 20,000 feathers. (Source: http://www.wbu.com/chipperwoods/kids.htm)

A pretty whimsy...

There's something that caught my eye about the Garden Whimsy stamp set. I like it!

This card came together easily with some Cutie Pie designer paper, a Pretties kit flower that has been colored with an aqua painter and Bashful Blue ink pad (push in the lid to get a little pool of ink to dip the aqua painter into), a half pearl stuck on with a glue dot and some white taffeta ribbon (so soft!).

The butterfly was cut out and stuck on with a Stampin' Dimensional. I love not only the word stamps in this set, but also the way they move.

A dotty Merry Christmas...

This is the last in the run of Louise's Christmas cards. This one uses a new set called Merry, Merry.

Louise added white dots to the snowflakes with her Unibal white gel pen. The card uses Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate ink and card stock. The christmas greeting came from Everyday Flexible Phrases.

Overall, the stamp set has a retro look to it, but as you can see by this card, that doesn't mean your projects will look retro! Give it a try.

Snow Flurries...

Snow Flurries is one of those sets that seems so simple - 6 small snowflake stamps - and yet has so many different looks, depending on which colors you use.

What's also nice is they fit perfectly with a 1/2" circle punch.

This card uses some Wintergreen paper, and new In Colors Blue Bayou and Soft Sky, along with the double-stitched Soft Sky ribbon.

This card does bring joy....

Party Punch meets Baroque Motif...

These aren't your traditional Christmas colors, but they work!

The Merry Christmas stamp comes from the Level 1 hostess set, Party Punch, which works well with the designer label punch AND the 1 3/8" circle punch (notice the bravo burgundy circle matting the greeting?). The inside circle was punched out with a 1/2" circle punch and stuck on with a dimensional.

This card is a different shape, too - 3" x 6". It's a pleasing size, and SU! carries the envelopes! What a bonus!!!

Ah, that hits the old Snowflake Spot...

Warm Wishes with a cold snowflake? Who'd a thunk it?

The snowflake comes from Snowflake Spot, while the Warm Wishes comes from Hugs & Wishes. There's a little bling of hodgepodge hardware and double-stitched Blue Bayou ribbon, as well as some designer paper decorated down the side with the spiral punch.

Wishing you warm wishes....

Punch box Christmas card...

SU!'s August Punch Box Promotion gives you a lot of fun stamps and a punch - not to mention the 30 free love notes with envelopes - so why wouldn't you get it?

Here's a full-size Christmas card that uses strips of real red and old olive card stock, along with a strip from Dashing designer paper.

Add some 5/8" red grosgrain on some double-stitched River Rock grosgrain and you've got a festive card that's just right for anybody!

Let it snow...

Louise came up with this Punch Pals card. It uses some Wintergreen designer paper, colored brads, the word window punch and more.

Of course, snow seems a long ways off since it's only August... but on those hot days, it's a nice dream.

If you think you live in a state where it doesn't or won't snow, check this out:

Snow trivia: Practically every location in the United States has seen snowfall. Even most portions of southern Florida have seen a few snow flurries. (National Snow and Ice Data Center, http://nsidc.org/snow/science.html)

Punch Pals...

Get out those punches and have fun creating great-looking cards with the new stamp set Punch Pals.

This card uses the small and large tag punches, the small and large oval punches, and a 1/8" hand punch, along with some prints designer paper and black gingham ribbon.

Love Notes folder...

This Certainly Celery Love Notes folder idea came from SU! creative guy Brent Steele at our annual convention. It's made from 12" x 12" textured card stock (it measures 4" x 6" finished), with a 1" circle punch used to notch out the right side. The Regal Rose flowers are made using the 5-Petal Flower punch, with the 1/2" circle punch for the middle of the flowers. The thinking of you sentiment comes from Flowers & Flourishes.

Brent made the horizontal pockets inside by folding up his card stock, but I simply used Almost Amethyst textured card stock to add more color inside. The 5/8" celery grosgrain holds the front and back together to make a sweet little package. And the Wild Wasabi textured love notes are part of the Punch Box Promotion, which ends Aug. 31.

Wanted card....

Wanted is a fabulous new set in the Fall-Winter Collection catalog.

The card at left was heavily inspired by SU! demo Michelle Fischer, who does amazing things with card stock. Louise changed up the round medallion layers and colors, as well as added the thinking of you from the Three for You Punch Box, but otherwise the design is the same.

Louise also made a matching purse box (Michelle did a great demo at convention) that holds a set of these cards. It's amazing!

Hung up on the Holidays...

My tip for using this stamp set is to mount the rubber on the edge of the wood blocks so you can just eyeball it for stamping. It makes for quick cards!

Hung up on the Holidays hasn't seen much use, but will this year. The colors used on this card are Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa and Not Quite Navy, along with caramel gingham ribbon.

The Be Merry sentiment at the bottom is from Warm Words.

Soft Sky snowflakes...

There's something magical about Soft Sky ink and card stock and chocolate.

This card was made with the snowflake stamp from Perfect Presentation (Level 2 hostess set) and Many Merry Messages.

Add a little chocolate taffeta ribbon (it's very soft and pretty in real life) and you've got a yummy, simple card.

Seeing Spots?

Stampin' Up! has so many stamps that work well together, and with the punches offered in the Fall-Winter Collection.

Seeing Spots coordinates with the Spot On jumbo wheel, Big Pieces, Little Pieces and more.

On this card, the stamp was inked with Rose Red, punched out and layered on a punched out scallop. The card also features our new 5/8" burgundy grosgrain and Rose Red prints designer paper.

The thinking of you came from the Three for You punch box, which is featured in our August promotion - purchase the punch box for $45.95 and receive 30 Love Notes (3" x 3") featuring textured So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate card stock for FREE (that's a $12.95 value). You can contact us with your order.
