The 5/8" chocolate grosgrain is held on with a couple of mini glue dots and adhered to the back of the Almost Amethyst layer.
Spotlighting with a punch is a favorite technique - especially with swaps. You don't have to color in the larger image!

Here, the cat is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with a blender pen and Stampin' Pastels. Then the "spray" was added using a black marker and color spritzer.
The top of the card is paper from Creepy Crawly. It makes Halloween projects a cinch!
Earth Elements watercolor crayons and an aqua painter were used to color in the cauldron.
The main card is Pumpkin Pie card stock, with Really Rust on the bottom. Also, the black strip is pierced.
Halloween trivia: Some people believe that if you see a spider on Halloween, it is the spirit of a loved one watching over you. (Source: www.bonita.k12.ca.us/allen/Fun/Halloween.htm)
The angel image from Holy Triptych is stamped in black StazOn on vellum card stock and embossed with Hologram Highlights powder. It's a favorite because it leaves a heavenly sparkle.
The angel is then layered on Whisper White card stock, both layers held together at the top with the silver brads, and then ripped at the bottom and sponged with Bashful Blue ink and layered on Brushed Silver card stock.
Silver elastic cord (also found in the Holiday Mini) is wrapped around the top a few times and knotted, while noel from Many Merry Messages is stamped and embossed like the angel.
Batty for You works so well with our circle punches - and the stamps fit perfectly inside our scallop punch. What's not to love about that?
The FOR YOU comes from Happy Everything, and the Sanded background stamp adds great texture.
For this 6" x 6" scrapbook page, the top and bottom images are stamped in the same color they're layered on. For the middle image, the greeting is stamped in Close to Cocoa with Real Red poinsettias around the edges. Use a 1 1/4" square punch for the top layers, and the 1 3/8" square punch for the back layers.
The River Rock strip under the squares is stamped in that same color ink with the Aida Cloth background stamp. And double-stitched River Rock ribbon is first threaded through some Hodgepodge Hardware before getting adhered to the Dashing designer paper with sticky strip. No snowman or snow - great for those warm places during the holidays!
These were Louise's swaps for our group meeting. She used the True Friend stamp set from the Holiday Mini Collection, along with the scallop and photo corner punches. A double circle punch used on the photo corner makes it easy to thread the white taffeta ribbon. The colored brad is from the Earth Elements.
And these colors feel like fall. They are Wild Wasabi and Pumpkin Pie, with a little Chocolate Chip thrown in (everything's better with chocolate!).
The phrase comes from In My Thoughts.
Autumn trivia: In the United States and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of the autumn season is the day of the year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator moving southward (on September 22nd or 23rd). This day is known as the Autumnal Equinox. (Source: http://www.calendar-updates.com/info/holidays/us/autumn.aspx)
The colors are right off the Color Coach - Always Artichoke, Almost Amethyst, Rose Red and So Saffron.
The for you comes from the All Holidays set. And for $150+ order, you can receive Oh, So Lovely for FREE!
To make the box: Use one piece of 12" x 12" paper. Cut off 3 1/4" from one side. Score in from all sides at 2 7/8". Score diagonally on the CORNERS only (not the middle section). Fold on all the lines, and have the corners sticking out - they look like triangles.
Then fold the side triangles so they overlap (I like both of the front triangles overlapping the back because I think it looks nicer). Punch one 1/16" hole on each side through the triangles and side of the box and secure with pink brads.
This is a really simple box pattern you can use for any 3" x 6" cards, regardless of whether you use a kit or not. So try one today and let your imagination go wild!
