Cozy Christmas CASE

 

These are not your typical Christmas colors. I think that's why I like it so much. I used Night of Navy, Real Red and Hello Honey markers to ink up this sentiment from the Cozy Christmas stamp set in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.

 

This card layout is a CASE from the Holiday Catalog - I just changed up the colors and used the Season of Cheer designer series paper (dsp). I also hand-cut the banner. And the gift bow is from the punch of the same name. You need to punch the Night of Navy card stock twice to get enough pieces to make one bow. It's assembled with mini glue dots.

Lots of Joy Christmas card

 

I'm still going with Christmas in July with a new clear stamp set called Lots of Joy.

 

This is a CASE'd card that uses a current embossing folder (Modern Mosaic) and retired designer paper. The only ink color used is a Real Red ink pad. The top layer is popped up with dimensionals and the right corners punched with the corner rounder.

At my 20-card class last weekend, half of the 10 designs were Christmas. I love starting Christmas in July!

 

I used the Holiday Home stamp set (now retired) for this card, starting with a Whisper White card. I sponged the rectangle (and circle) with Night of Navy, and used the same color for the sentiment. The sleigh and reindeer silhouette is stamped in black ink. I CASE'd this card from http://blog.thecraftyowl.co.uk/.

Lovely as a Tree Christmas card

 

Lovely as a Tree stamp set has been around for many, many years. And yet it still is relevant and beautiful for cards such as this one.

 

This Pear Pizzazz card has a layer of Lost Lagoon card stock and All is Calm Specialty Designer Paper. The tag uses the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with the large pine from Lovely as a Tree stamped in Pear Pizzazz with a sentiment from Good Greetings. Lost Lagoon and Old Olive look fabulous together! And those silver glimmer stars are so sparkly.

'Tis the Season for great colors

 

Beware the kangaroo bearing gifts! Ha ha Just kidding. I love this stamp from a retired 2005 Stampin' Up! set called Happy Christmas, Mate! I have a thing for all things Australian, except the spiders and snakes.

 

 I started with a Chocolate Chip card and embossed the front with Pretty Print, then adhered 1" circles of Marina Mist. I used only those two colors to color the main image with the ink pads and blender pen, adding silver dazzling details to the shoes, hat and gift (that's hard to see!). I used the Circles Framelits to die-cut the kangaroo after stamping it.

 

I combined two challenges for this card - 'Tis the Season color challenge and Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge. There's a day+ left for the CCMCSpring14-01 challenge and you have two weeks for 'Tis the Season.

 

 

You can see I kinda turned around the sketch to make it work with this stamp set. I love challenges as starting points to creating one-of-a-kind cards! Now it's your turn. Create a card and link it to these blogs. And have a happy day!

 

'Tis the Season for my Christmas Deer

 

My friend, Holly, invited me to be a Guest Designer at her 'Tis the Season Challenge blog. I love challenges! And this one keeps Christmas alive 365 days of the year. This time around it's an Inspiration Challenge. You can see the photo below and create where it takes you - wreath, deer, wood, whatever you like!

 

Here are the rules:

3. Please don't combine more than 4 challenges (including this one!).

4. HAVE FUN! (Okay, I added that one.)

 You have 2 full weeks to take part in this challenge, so pull out a favorite Christmas stamp or two and get busy! Now here's my pretty literal interpretation of the photo for my card:

 

 

I first stamped the Hardwood stamp in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White card stock, then stamped the Christmas Deer image in Cajun Craze and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I layered Cajun Craze card stock under the white layer and put both on a Marina Mist card. The color combo is from Stampin' Up!'s Color Coach. I love that thing! Anyway, I used a hostess set called Warmth & Wonder for the sentiment.

Gift you can make #7: Mason jar chandelier or centerpiece

 

A canning rack, six quart-sized Mason jars, a string of lights and you're good to go for making a unique centerpiece, or, add a chain like in the photo above, and you have a chandelier! My bestie, Kim, frosted the jars and added snowflakes and tons of SU! rhinestones that sparkle and shine when this is plugged in (sorry, no photo of that yet!). I'm going to be using this as a centerpiece on my table for our Christmas dinner.

 

 

My best bud, Kim! It's funny that we ended up with each other's handmade gifts at our holiday party.

Gift you can make #6: A snowflake and burlap wreath

 

Burlap goes with anything, it seems. Above, my friend and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Heather, holds a burlap wreath with Festive Flurry snowflakes that Barb made. Barb even included an additional ornament she made using the big rosette die for the Big Shot.

Gift idea you can make #5: Fabric organizer

 

We all have items that accumulate and start taking over craft areas, countertops, etc., so why not make a fabric organizer you can throw in the wash when it gets dusty or dirty? Gift idea you can make #4: Ornaments

 

Ornaments make everything more fun and festive! My friend and downline, Cindy, is holding up the ornaments Heather made for our gift exchange recently. The left one is from the Festive Flurries Ornament Kit (they're still available), and the second is made using strips of Stampin' Up! designer paper, curled with a bone folder!

My friend and downline, Barb, is holding the gift she ended up with at our team party - Cindy's snowflake shadow box.

 



This is a better photo of the shadow box. It has lots of sparkly detail! The shadow box may be purchased at a craft store, then it's all Stampin' Up! ribbon, stamps, paper, and framelits.

Gift idea you can make #2: Paper magnet star

 

My American Ink team member and friend, Mary Ann, was happy to get this star created by Frankie from our annual Christmas party gift exchange Saturday. Each half of a star point is covered with Stampin' Up! designer paper and magnet sheet, so they're removable (or you could make points for each season!). The metal star was purchased at a craft store. What a great holiday decoration!

Gift idea you can make #1: Sparkly snowflake earrings

 

What a great pair of holiday earrings! They are so sparkly and radiant - who'd guess they were made using some Stampin' Up! embellishments? I love them. This is what I made for the gift exchange at my American Ink group's annual Christmas party that was on Saturday. I even made myself an extra pair.
And Mary Ann made a pair of earrings AND a necklace! Fun!!!

I love Santa's List!

 

This fun little banner is from a hostess set called Perfectly You. There are stamps for many occasions in the set.



 

It's so quick and easy to create a cute Christmas card with the Santa's List stamp set and banners. This one uses a 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Season of Style designer paper. The only ink is a Real Red pad, and I used the 2-1/2" circle punch for the main image.

 

My kids are eagerly counting down the days till their Winter Break - 10 as of today! I hope you enjoy your Monday.

Pairing new with old Christmas stamps

 

Cute little images are so fun to mix and match with washi tape for quick and easy Christmas cards like this one!

 

This was one of my designs for a Christmas card class. The little images are from the now retired Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set. The images were stamped, punched out using a circle punch, then adhered over the washi tape with dimensionals. If you're pressed for time, this is a great layout to work with. And if you don't have washi tape, use strips of designer paper! The big sentiment is from the Joy to the World stamp set, which is in the Holiday Catalog.

Bringing on Winter Memories

 

I pulled out one of my favorite vintage-looking Christmas stamp sets for my 10-card Christmas class Saturday. It's called Winter Memories, and it includes these fabulous ice skates as one of the 5 stamps in the set.

 

This Crumb Cake card has an embossed front, a knot of natural trim and some distressing around the Blushing Bride Oval. The skates were stamped in Early Espresso ink and there's a warm and wonderful Christmas sentiment stamped inside (and no photo of it, sorry).
