A Simple Sounding Joy card

The Sounding Joy is such a pretty stamp set to use for Christmas cards. These colors are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Riding Hood Red. It's a very simple card - just stamping, a couple of layers of card stock and ribbon - that I used for a 10-card class. I always try to have a mix of fun snowman cards and more serious religious cards to send out.

The Sounding Joy with silver glimmer

I love this card! It uses The Sounding Joy stamp set (in the Holiday Mini), along with Cherry Cobbler, silver glimmer paper, and Crumb Cake card stock and ribbon. I CASE'd it from Jen Sannes at http://www.simpleandsincere.com/. Isn't it lovely? My customers got to make two of this card at my latest stamp-a-stack, and I have Red Hat Ladies coming to the studio tomorrow morning to make it.

Order NOW from the Holiday Mini Catalog & receive FREE product

This is just a quick blurb to make you aware that you may now order from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog. (I just added the picture and link in the right column.) It's got some great stuff in there! Of course I love all the Halloween goodies, but there are some gorgeous fall and winter items too! You can see the ones I've already played with in some posts below.

Here's my special for YOU for the month of September: Purchase $50 worth of product from the Holiday Mini Catalog, and I'll throw in either 1) designer buttons, 2) designer fabric, or 3) Winter Wishes stitched felt. (Your choice!)

You can either enter your order through my Online Store (http://therubberroom.stampinup.net/) or email me with your order at ericandterry@comcast.net. Thanks!

Pick Your Poison dsp for Halloween decoration

I love Halloween. Have I mentioned that before? lol

I bought a corked bottle at a local store, added some jelly beans and some Pick Your Poison ready-to-go accents and BOOM - instant toxin. Love it! I had to trim down the self-adhesive accent a bit because I wanted it to fit on one side of the bottle. It's layered on some Pear Pizzazz card stock that's been run through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

I love adding pages of coordinating Pick Your Poison dsp to give a better effect when I take the photos. It's cool looking, don't you think? I first tied a knot of 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta around the neck of the bottle, threading it tthrough a black bauble (I removed the lobster claw) so that the bauble hangs down. Then I tied 1-1/4" Pumpkin Pie grosgrain around the neck of the bottle.

Howl-O-Ween Creeps is perfect for Halloween card fun

I used my Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set (coming up September 1 in the Holiday Mini) because I love that witch! This time I decided to glam her up a bit with some pearls on her hat, dress and shoes.

I used this week's sketch on the Stamping 411 blog, and this is what I got. I figure a witch loves her black cat(s), her pet bat and spider, and strings of candy corn and spiders. The Old Olive glimmer brad adds a bit of bling.

This close-up shows the pearls better, as well as her Cajun Craze hair. The vertical strip with the spider is from a piece of paper in the Frightful Sight dsp pack, along with the cat paper. Here's the 411 sketch:

Polar Party penguin shaker card with mica flakes

I love how this Marina Mist Polar Party penguin shaker card turned out. It gives you a glimpse of some upcoming Holiday Mini products - the Snow Burst embossing folder on the card front, the mica flakes that make up the "shake" of the shaker card, a piece of Frostwood Lodge dsp, and something you can't see - the shaker frame, which is like a dimensional in that you pull it off a sheet and it's sticky on the bottom, simply adhere it around the penguin (in this case), pull off the top paper and adhere the window sheet and other card stock layer to the top.

I used the mini silver brads on each corner, just like the card I CASE'd in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I changed the paper, stamp set and ribbon used. Oh, did you notice the scallop dotted Marina Mist ribbon? I'm loving that ribbon! Enjoy your weekend. I am!

Holiday Mini Sneak Peek at Howl-o-ween Creeps

I've been wanting to create a Halloween card ever since my Holiday Mini Catalog preorder arrived the other day. So I did! Here it is, using the same sketch for A La Card Monkey as the previous one.
The witch and sentiment are from a new set called Howl-o-ween Creeps. The paper is from a pack in the regular catalog called Frightful Sight (and is part of the BUY 3, GET 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale this month), and the black lace and jewels are from last year's Holiday Mini. Did you notice the spider web embossed on the Basic Black card stock layer?
