Snowflakes and Christmas Lodge quick cards

Here are two more of the designs I used for my 10-card class last week. This Christmas Lodge card was made for an A La Card Monkey challenge November 25 (you can see the post by looking under that date on my blog). It's simple and pretty, with some embossing from the Petals a Plenty folder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and a white satin ribbon.

I CASE'd this idea from Diana Gibbs. I hadn't used the Serene Snowflakes set since last year, so it was time to ink it up. The colors are Real Red, Pool Party and Island Indigo, with a few sparkly rhinestones on snowflakes.

Jolly Old Saint Nick loves his snowflakes...

I made this card for a theme challenge of Snowflakes. I stamped them on the Crumb Cake card front, and embossed them on the Marina Mist layer. They take the backdrop to Jolly Old Saint Nick, though. I feel as though my time to use Christmas stamps is winding down (crazy, I know, since I've been stamping Christmas cards since August), and I wanted to use this Santa at least one more time before shelving him. For those of us who love visual aids, here's a close-up of the button with clear tinsel through it and the wavy banner sentiment:

And here's one more close-up of the card, showing the Vanilla Smooch Spritz on the snowflake-embossed Marina Mist layer with a rhinestone:

I used a sketch provided by Mary Jo at Technostamper.

Stamps: Jolly Old Saint Nick, Serene Snowflakes;
Ink:  Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Real Red, Blush Blossom marker;
Paper: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Whisper White;
Accessories: Vanilla Smooch Spritz, Basic Rhinestones, sponge dauber, dimensionals, Deck the Halls designer buttons, clear tinsel, 5/8" Marina Mist satin ribbon, corner rounder punch, Northern Flurry embossing folder.

Serene Snowflakes & Merry Details...

I love a basic Whisper White card. Mix some Holiday Mini magic with it and it comes alive in a simple and elegant way.

There's Soft Suede ink, card stock and polka-dotted ribbon on this card, which uses a snowflake from Serene Snowflakes, a greeting from Grateful Greetings, and a bright Real Red bird from the sizzlet for the Big Shot, Merry Details.

This card was CASE'd from another blogger, though I don't think there was Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds on the original as there is on this one.

Serene Snowflakes & Heard from the Heart...

For stamp-a-stacks, the idea is to get everyone stamping 10 cards in a couple of hours. The cards need to be pretty simple, attractive, and with an embellishment (those are my rules!).

I borrowed this idea from Holly Endress, my downline in Virginia. She does some great stuff. Look here.

This Bashful Blue card uses Serene Snowflakes and words from Heard from the Heart. I stamped different snowflakes in Bashful Blue and Bermuda Bay inks on Shimmery White card stock, tied some polka-dotted Bermuda Bay ribbon in a knot after distressing the edges with the Cutter Kit, then layered on a distressed piece of Bermuda Bay that's attached to the front of the card.

Guests bring goodies....

Two guest demonstrators joined us at our American Ink group gathering Saturday in Bonney Lake.

Deb Naylor, a SU! demo for more than 10 years, brought this adorable 3d Top Note treat as a make & take. It features the Twick or Treat stamp set available in the Holiday Mini Catalog Sept. 1, and there's a mini moon pie inside.

The Bermuda Bay snowflake card is Deb's swap. This Serene Snowflakes set is also out of the Holiday Mini. Demos get to order mini catalog items a month in advance (it's just one of the many perks we have).

Our other demo guest, Angela Hoffman, brought this Tea Party flower card to swap. She met Kim and I at our Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo booth Aug. 1.

It's always great visiting with other SU! demos! If you'd like to join my American Ink group, contact me today at ericandterry@comcast.net. Thanks!
